About us
Our history
In early 2002, a group of committed community members from Ville Saint-Laurent and greater Montreal recognized the growing need for a psychosocial center that specialized in addressing issues faced by women in their communities, but through a culturally-sensitive lens. Their diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds allowed them to source local experts to respond to this need, creating the Amal Center.
Since its inception, Amal has served hundreds of women and families. Our variety of offerings has been recognized across Montreal for their groundbreaking approach in providing culturally-sensitive services to Montreal’s most vulnerable populations.
